Mont-Saint-Michel

Mont-Saint-Michel, first lights with reflections

Mont-Saint-Michel

World-famous UNESCO Heritage Site, disputed border between Normandy and Brittany, thousand years of history and legends, now a real island again since the huge infrastructure works at the beginning of the 21st Century …  no need to introduce Mont-Saint-Michel!

Photos in this post highlight the silhouette of the Mont and the Abbey. Most of them have been shot from a distance, away from the crowd, during the Spring equinox in 2019.

From Avranches

The view from the Jardin des Plantes belvedere in Avranches is quite scenic. Although the Mont is only visible in the distance, the meanders of River La Sée in the foreground are leading your eyes towards the Bay and the Mont. This belvedere is also most likely the highest elevation around the bay.

Glow of Dawn

That morning, fog was stronger!  You’ll have to believe me, the Mount was entirely surrounded by water.
